NJ Senator Booker says “We should be angry” about the election results
Our take: Yikes. Senator is one of the most respected and powerful positions in our country. For Booker to come out after an election where the American people resoundingly and definitively said they were tired of the Democrat policies, to make a statement this tone deaf does not bode well for their political future. Humility, listening, and reaching out to the over half of the country who said they didn’t like your plans would be appropriate. Doubling down on failed policies, lying about what is coming (Project 2025 has never been assoicated in any way with Trump regardless of the multiple attempts by Democrats to tie him to it) are not the way to go. For a guy that attended Stanford, was a Rhodes Scholar, and a Yale Law School grad he is not demonstrating much critical thinking here.

Michigan woman awarded $12 million dollars for civil rights violation committed in the name of “the greater good”
Our take: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (along with thousands of of other businesses, organizations, and government entities) violated the First Amendment when they fired a 38 year employee who refused to take the Covid shot in 2021. She stated she deserved a religious exemption, which was denied by the company. This is a great victory that illustrates how wrong many of the Covid mandates forced upon the country (and the rest of the world) by Orwellian bureaucrats were. Closing down schools, foisting mask mandates on people, arresting people for going to the gym or paddlebarding in the ocean by themselves, all without any scientific evidence that these measured worked, were clear violations of the Constitution. It was, and still is, shocking to us that so many people not only complied, but took glee in reporting their friends, family, and neighbors, for violating these capricious and arbitrary mandates. We can’t help but think many of these people are the same people who virtue signal and say they never would have stood for slavery or would have fought back against the Third Reich if they lived in 1930’s Germany. Groupthink is a very dangerous thing. For the record, we have never taken the Covid shot and never will. We generally lived our lives through the entire pandemic, including flying enough to earn a companion pass with Southwest airlines during that period. The lesson here is don’t let fear or intimidation stop you from doing what is right. Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes when you do it. Just because a whole bunch of people think it’s true does not make it true.

MSNBC ratings tank in another blow for the mainstream media
Our take: After an election night with 6 million viewers, MSNBC ratings dropped 90% by Thursday to just 600,000 viewers. The mainstream media ran cover for the Democrat party for years, stifling coverage of the Hunter Biden laptop story, refusing to report on Biden’s clear cognitive decline throughout his presidency, and excusing Harris for refusing to engage with the media for over a month of her candidacy among other things. We say a lot that people are not fooled when others are not genuine. The mainstream media is slowly learning that lesson. It remains to be seen if they can win back the trust of the American public, or if they will continue their slide into complete lack of relevancy. With so many different sources to get information (including this one that really smart people read every day) they don’t have a long runway to figure it out.

TIP OF THE DAY
Instead of looking to be understood, try to understand others first. Listening builds trust with others. There will be time to get your points across later. Understand others first, and you will be much more successful at developing strong relationships.
