NY AG Letitia James prosecuted many mortgage fraud cases similar to the one she was indicted

Our take: Letitia James ran for New York Attorney General, and one of her main campaign promises was to “get Donald Trump.” Get him for what was not clear. She at no point leveled specific accusations against Trump. She used common invectives like “fraudulent” and “criminal acts,” but nothing like “Donald Trump fraudulently misrepresented his companies to obtain government money.”

She was elected, and true to her word, she spent the next several years making up things she could use to prosecute Trump in civil court. She eventually ginned up a case in which no one lost money, all loans were paid back as agreed, and the lenders (supposedly victims of fraud) all wanted to loan more money to Trump and his businesses. A kangaroo court and partisan judge rubber-stamped a conviction on … no one really knows. The next time someone screams, “Trump is a felon! ,” ask them to explain what he was convicted of and watch them start stuttering and spitting out sentence fragments. The whole prosecution of Trump was politically motivated; it was wrong, and it was a travesty of justice.

James thought she would prevent Trump from being re-elected by tarnishing his name in court. She was wrong. Now that he has regained the White House. James is on the other side of a malicious prosecution. The prosecution of James is also politically motivated; it is wrong, and it is a travesty of justice.

For what it’s worth, James has prosecuted mortgage fraud cases with similar fact patterns and for similar dollar amounts as the one she so vehemently claims her innocence for, despite documents signed by her that clearly show she lied about the use of the properties she was purchasing, presumably to get better mortgage terms. James and her supporters should shut up and take their medicine. The proverb “live by the sword, die by the sword” has been around for centuries. This is for sure the same sword James wielded with impunity being used to cut her down to size.

New Oregon budget shows the state will spend $500 million on a program offering health benefits to illegal aliens than it will spend on state police

Our take: Oregon is a big state. Portland is by far the largest city, with around a quarter of all Oregon residents living in the Portland metro area. The rest of the state is held captive by the progressive politics of this blue lagoon. A case in point is the new Oregon state budget, which shows that the state will spend $500 million more on health programs that include benefits for illegal immigrants than they will on the entire state police force and all their activities.

I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I love to say it’s a great place to be from, because it means you are not there anymore. The homelessness, drug use, tax-and-spend government, and self-flagellation over all things woke are too much to take to offset the natural beauty and the majority of people being good, honest, hardworking people who continue to be failed by their incompetent elected officials.

Legendary actress Diane Keaton dies at 79

Our take:  Screen legend and Academy Award winner Diane Keaton passed away over the weekend. Keaton starred on screen for over 50 years. Her credits include such legendary films as The Godfather trilogy, Annie Hall, and Father of the Bride.

Martin Short, who worked with Keaton and Steve Martin on The Father of the Bride films, shared a funny anecdote about Keaton. Short once asked Keaton who was sexier – Short or Martin. Keaton’s response was funny and accurate – “I mean, you’re both idiots.” Keaton never married and leaves behind an adult son and daughter.

Tip of the day for staying consistent

Unrealistic Goals

A common reason for inconsistency is “setting unrealistic or overly difficult goals,” says Jordan Kunde-Wright, certified personal trainer at Living.Fit, who also has a bachelor’s degree in psychology & sociology.

My goal used to be to reach the weight I was when I was 25. It’s not necessarily unrealistic, but it’s definitely difficult and way too vague. You have to get specific with your goals, and it’s best to start small and build from there. So, instead of focusing on my end goal, I just said I’ll go to the gym five times a week. It’s realistic and relatively easy.
