Mother-in-law keeps letting herself into her son’s house while his wife is home working
Our take: We have heard a lot of horror stories about in-laws not knowing or respecting boundaries, but this one is pretty far out. A woman wrote to the site, “Am I the asshole? ” and asked if she was in the wrong for wanting her mother-in-law to stop letting herself into her and her husband’s house without notice.
While the daughter-in-law was home. She goes on to say sometimes she is working, and sometimes she is not, neither of which is remotely relevant. She says the MIL says the DIL is “forcing her out of her son’s life” by preventing her from coming and going from their house as she wishes.
We have 2 comments. First, this seems like a cry for attention. No one could think they were wrong for not wanting someone who doesn’t live in their house to show up unannounced, let themselves in, and do whatever they choose. Second, your husband needs to grow a backbone and tell his psycho mom to cut the shit.

Female boxer who failed gender eligibility test challenges Olympic testing mandate
Our take: Imane Khelif won a gold medal in women’s boxing at the Olympics in Paris in 2024. He also failed a gender test showing he had XY chromosomes, which makes him in fact a man. Previously, the Olympic committee was super progressive and allowed people to compete in whatever gender they said they were without having to prove it was true. This is despite the fact that anti-doping rules have been in place for decades to ensure competition was fair for all involved.
Earlier this year, sanity entered the discourse when there was international outcry over the obvious danger and unfairness of, among other things, men boxing women. The Olympic committee changed the rule and is requiring gender testing when there is ambiguity around an athlete's gender.
Khelif denies being a man and thinks he should be allowed to punch women in the face without question. He is challenging the rule. We have consistently been on the side of women on this issue. Before puberty, coed sports don’t make any difference. Post puberty, men should compete with men, and women should compete with women. We don’t need to define what constitutes a man or a woman, as science did that centuries ago. It is crazy to us that we are still discussing this nonsense.

Nestle fires CEO after he gets sweet with a subordinate
Our take: You would think that running a company that generates over $100 billion would be enough for you to keep you nose clean as it pertains to affairs of the heart. That was not the case at Nestle, where their CEO of just a year has been dismissed for having a “romantic relationship” with a direct subordinate. Laurent Freixe was with the company for almost 40 years, and ascended to the top role just one year ago. This gives the slogan “Break me off a piece of that Kit Kat bar” a whole new context from our view.

Tip of the day for changing habits
Identify cues.
Something has to trigger a habit, and a cue can be anything. Maybe stress makes you crave chocolate, or the sound of your alarm triggers you to hit the snooze button. Identifying cues helps you understand what puts your habits into motion.
