President Trump announces a cease-fire between Iran and Israel
Our take: Donald Trump has consistently been an anti-war advocate. He has famously said he prefers peace over war and that negotiating a deal is almost always a better alternative to the grave costs of war. Donald Trump also has a well-deserved reputation as a fighter and a rebel, willing to say and do things most people would never consider.
Both these philosophies were in full effect as Trump decided on how to handle the Iran/Israel conflict. Israel has been claiming for years that Iran was close to nuclear weapon capabilities. They certainly seemed to mean it this time as they launched an attack on Iran 12 days ago, claiming that they needed to stop Iran now as they were almost to the point where they could enrich uranium to the necessary level to create a nuclear weapon.
Trump first tried diplomacy, stating publicly the US welcomed a conversation with Iran, both publicly denouncing Israel’s actions and stating flatly the US had no desire to push for regime change in Iran, despite a groundswell of support from both inside Iran and the US. Iran flatly rejected the opportunity.
So Trump switched courses and launched a specific and devastating attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, destroying them with massive “bunker bombs,” flying US bombers across the globe, into Iran and back, seemingly virtually undetected. The US suffered zero losses, human or military assets, and Iran was left with no nuclear future.
Trump then pivoted back to diplomacy, announcing late Monday that Iran & Israel had agreed to cease-fire terms. It appears as if Trump has pulled off a brilliant maneuver using a tried-and-true strategy that goes back to Teddy Roosevelt—speak softly but carry a big stick. Turns out sometimes you need to use the stick.

House minority leader says, “No riots in LA”, calls them unrest and attacks Republicans in statement
Our take: It appears to us that Democrats don’t ever want to win another election. It’s hard to see how this is wrong based on their “leaders” making the same mistakes over and over. Hakeem Jeffries is no different.
The House minority leader bristled at a question about condemning the riots in LA. The riots that sprung from the “no kings” protests were launched by opposition to ICE activity in Los Angeles. They have so far caused an estimated $30 million in damage to the city. Mayor Karen Bass whined to the public they would need to help clean things up so LA was not embarrassed when the World Cup came to the city next year. But Jeffries disagreed there were riots in LA.
When asked how he would vote on a proposed resolution condemning the Los Angeles riots, he stated, “Obviously I disagree with the classification of the notion that there were riots in Los Angeles; certainly there was unrest,” Jeffries told the DCNF on Monday. “We will not be lectured by extreme MAGA Republicans about questions of law and order. Are you kidding me? ”
No, we are not kidding you, Hakeem. Americans are tired of people destroying their communities because their feelings are hurt or they disagree with some political point of view. Until Democrats understand that and choose to support the vast majority of law-abiding American citizens who have had enough of this nonsense.

Former NFL star Antonio Brown, wanted for attempted murder, says he is out of the country
Our take: Antonio Brown was a highly successful wide receiver in the NFL. Drafted out of Central Michigan in the 6th round of the 2010 NFL draft, Brown far outperformed expectations, earning 6 Pro Bowl and 4 All-Pro selections and winning a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Unfortunately, Brown also had multiple disciplinary issues, including being cut from the Oakland Raiders in 2019 without ever playing a down and ending his NFL career by walking off the field in Tampa Bay during the 3rd quarter of a game, stripping off his shoulder pads, and storming off to the locker room.
Brown has upped his game after his NFL career. He is now wanted for attempted murder after a video allegedly shows Brown grabbing a gun off a security guard and firing 2 shots at a man he previously fought with.
Brown took to X to let everyone know he is out of the country and that there would be “no more child support—tell yo’ mamma to get a job.” Yikes. We hope Brown has both a good defense attorney and a good psychiatrist. He clearly needs both at this point in his life.

Tip of the Day
Try to schedule the conversation ahead of time. If possible, ask the person if they are available to speak at a certain time. This way, you can prepare what you are going to say ahead of time. If you need to, write out what you want to say! There is no shame in needing to use a notecard or piece of paper to collect yourself during the conversation.
