5 truths emotionally intelligent people live by

Our take:  Developing your emotional intelligence is one of the best things you can to improve your life.

Emotional intelligence involves both understanding the emotions of those around you and responding accordingly as well as understanding, using, and managing your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges, and defuse conflict.

This article does a good job of both identifying 5 truths people with a high emotional intelligence live by, as well as explaining why they work and how to incorporate them in your life.

NPR chief says “Show me a story that proves liberal bias”, internet hammers he with examples

Our take:  NPR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity, receiving its revenue from member dues, corporate underwriting, and grants. Those grants sometimes come from the federal government. Because of this, many think NPR should be nonpartisan and impartial. Pretty much everyone but the folks that work at NPR knows that it is a far left organization that waved bye-bye to impartiality a long time ago.

CEO Katherine Maher has spent the past few years gaslighting the American public in several public appearances. She fired a long time editor who correctly called out the fact that the entire NPR staff was Democratic, stating the first amendment made it tricky to censor or modify content the way she would like, deplatforming anyone she deems fascist, and saying that “our reverence for truth might be a distraction in getting things done. She now wants to claim that NPR “serves all Amercians.”

During her appearance on “The Situation Room” on CNN, Maher asked those claiming bias to “show me a story that concerns you, because we want to know and we want to bring that conversation back to our newsroom.” Unfortunately for Maher, the internet was happy to oblige.

Viewers pointed to NPR reporting that country music and birds are racist, told Amercians to stop eating beef, promoted the RussiaGate hoax, claimed Biden’s debate performance did not impact the election 2 days before Biden stepped out of the race, reported that there is no evidence that biological men have an unfair advantage over biological women in sports, said the US Highway system is racist, called rural Americans “Christian Nationalists”, and ignored the Hunter Biden laptop story completely. Other than that, they are completely unbiased and objective.

Piers Morgan calls out Joy Reid for making everything in life about race

Our take: We dislike both Piers Morgan and Joy Reid. That said, they both pander to different audiences, and watching them have a conversation was sure to yield some stuff to make fun of. When discussing Reid’s firing from MSNBC earlier this year, Morgan said Reid was fired because her show got increasingly unpopular and accused her of playing the race card.

Despite having just viewed a series of clips of herself appearing on a podcast earlier this month playing the race card, Reid responded by accusing Morgan of playing the race card. Shockingly, they started yelling at each other and talking over each other, which is when we quit watching.

Tip of the day – changing your mindset

Stay in contact with others. When times are tough, it’s common to withdraw from others. In fact, it’s often when we need support the most that we’re the least likely to seek it. Let go of the idea that strong people do everything themselves. Maintain your relationships.
