Audio tapes released of Biden interview call final acts in presidency into question

Our take: It may seem like this story is being beaten to death, especially since Joe Biden is no longer the sitting President. However, if we don’t dig into this, this situation could repeat itself yet again.

Biden is not the first president to suffer incapacitating mental issues while president. Woodrow Wilson was incapacitated by a stroke in the last several months of his term, with his wife essentially acting as president when Wilson’s inner circle covered up his condition.

Ronald Reagan had at minimum the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s disease in the last months of his presidency. It is said Nancy Reagan performed similar duties to Edith Wilson, even going so far as to consult her psychic to get counseling on decisions.

Donald Trump is one of the oldest presidents in our history. He is at an age that a debilitating medical event or natural aging could very well put him in the same position.

The President of the United States is one of, if not the most, powerful political positions in the world. Americans vote for the person who holds the job every 4 years. They have a right to know who is actually making the decisions that affect the country. Is it the president they elected or a cabal of those close to the president? This person has nuclear launch codes, is the commander in chief, and can issue pardons to people to allow them to escape prosecution and punishment for federal crimes. It’s too important a position to not know exactly who is in charge.

If you have not already, you should listen to a few of these recordings of Special Prosecutor Robert Hur interviewing then-President Biden. If you are in the camp that wants to deny Biden's decline or state it was a political witch hunt, these recordings will put that to rest.

Those closest to Biden who hid his slide from the country need to be held accountable.

3 ways to spot a scammer

Our take: We have written about scammers and how to avoid them multiple times. Every year, scammers fleece Americans out of billions of dollars. The framework of the scam is largely the same. This article calls out 3 red flags everyone should look out for.

  1. Many times scammers pretend to be with a government agency: IRS, FBI, etc. If you get an unexpected call from a government agency, hang up, look up the actual number of the agency, and call them back directly. It is rare one of these agencies will call you, and they will never require you to do anything immediately over the phone. If they show up in your driveway, you may have problems. If they call you, it is likely not legitimate.

  2. High pressure and urgency to make a payment or investment without any time to research the investment or speak with someone else. Any legitimate legal issue or investment will leave you plenty of time to seek counsel, help, or advice. If you have to pay something right now without speaking with anyone, it is most definitely a scam.

  3. Untraceable payment methods are a dead giveaway as well. Demanding payment to be made via wire, cryptocurrency, gift cards, or the like is a sure sign the caller is not legitimate.

This may all seem basic to you. If so, that is good. Make sure those that are less sophisticated or elderly may not know what you know. Have a conversation with them and make them aware of these red flags. It may save you and them a whole bunch of money and headaches down the road.
