Astronaut Katy Perry & Former PM Trudeau take a boat ride together
Our take: Former pop star turned astronaut Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were photographed necking on Perry’s yacht. We were surprised that Perry and Trudeau stopped looking at themselves in the mirror long enough not to notice the other one was there.
Perry became an astronaut (don’t believe us, just ask Gayle King) when she took a flight on a Blue Origin rocket with 5 other women dressed in Star Trek-inspired body suits and subjected the world to their ridiculous platitudes after the flight. Something tells us the conversation is not scintillating when these 2 mental giants get together.

The woman rejects job offer despite being laid off 2 years ago
Our take: The author worked as a conference planner for a trade show company but was laid off in August 2023. It’s a tough situation to be in, and she details her struggles to make ends meet, even stating she may not be able to make her car insurance payment next month.
We had empathy for her situation until she told us she turned down a full-time job in August because “she has 2 college degrees and a certification in meeting and event planning and should not have to start over.” What? Welcome to life, lady.
Go sell your sob story somewhere else. Many of us have worked jobs that we don’t like to pay the electric bill or put food on the table. The world does not owe you anything. You do what you have to do if you want to be successful.
We hope things turn out well for this woman and her son, but we have a hard time feeling sorry for someone that has an attitude this entitled.

Retirees are hot in the job market again
Our take: Retirees are gaining steam in the job market. Many companies are taking advantage of the experience, problem-solving skills, work ethic, and leadership that experienced workers have to offer.
Many retirees enjoy the additional income, the sense of purpose, and the social aspects of rejoining the workforce. This is capitalism at its finest. Companies have needs. Workers have skills that meet those needs. Chef’s kiss!

Tip of the day for staying consistent
Fear and Fatigue
We are generally inconsistent due to fear or fatigue, says Mike Silverman, certified personal trainer with Living.Fit. “And it's generally not physical fatigue; it's mental fatigue. It's also a pretty common fear that [what you’re trying to do] won't make a difference or that you won't measure up to some social media image of what it's supposed to be,” he says. “ Life ain't online. The only one who cares most about you is you.”
For example, when I was binge eating and not exercising, I always felt guilty. I’d binge all night and feel like I shouldn't eat the next day. So I’d restrict my eating during the day, and guess what happened at night? Yep, binging all over again — a vicious cycle of fear and fatigue. I didn't feel like there was anything that would change my life because I would ruin it with bad habits.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“I just love working hard. I love being part of a team; I love working toward a common goal.” – Tom Brady
