Democrats opposing deportations are out of touch with Hispanics and their own base
Our take: It’s no secret that Democrats have been firmly opposed to anything President Trump said or did since he first rode down the escalator at Trump Tower in 2015. While many of his comments are crass and abrasive, many times, he says out loud what a majority of Americans support.
This is true of his stance on immigration. Although there is debate about how to do it, the vast majority of Americans support deporting those who entered the country illegally. Democrats, for some reason, refuse to listen to the voters.
While Washington Democrats have agreed that the best way to bruise the president is to assail his immigration policies as too harsh and sloppily implemented, the party’s base is standing with Trump and his mass deportations of criminal illegal immigrants.
The defiance of liberal leaders is remarkably high among Democrats, including Black people, Hispanics, liberals, and younger citizens.
Overall, 79% of likely voters told Rasmussen Reports that they agree with deporting “illegal immigrants who commit crimes in America.” Just 5% said deporting isn’t “at all important.”
The view of Democratic base voters on border policies shared with Secrets is the real story for why the party is in the dumps as it tries to whip up opposition to Trump’s deportations.
Among Democratic voters, 69% believe it is important to deport criminal illegal immigrants. With Hispanics, it is 77%, and for Black voters, 71%. Add in liberals, at 62%, and younger voters, at 70%, and it’s pretty clear that the pro-immigration message embraced by Democratic leaders parading to Abrego Garcia’s jail in El Salvador isn’t working.
Notably, the attacks on Trump by Democrats and liberal protesters haven't hurt the president's approval ratings much.
Talk about being deaf. Democrats refusal to understand that most people look at illegal immigrants as cheaters and rule breakers who should not be rewarded by being allowed to stay here while millions of others follow the law and spend years and thousands of dollars to enter the country legally.
It’s not hard to understand why people feel this way. Democrats are barking up the wrong tree if they think their public and transparent showboating around immigration is going to win them any points with the majority of voters who support removing people who entered the country illegally.

Tesla-powered community in Houston attracts flocks of buyers
Our take: Having lived in Houston for a year, we can tell you it is a remarkably progressive and diverse city. It will soon become the 3rd largest city in the US by population. As such, building new houses is paramount. One small development in a posh area of Houston is experimenting with houses that are powered by Tesla-made technology.
Nestled in the Oaks of Shady Acres neighborhood, these properties — constructed by Utopia Homes, in partnership with Tesla — boast the company’s solar roof tiles, Powerwall batteries, and electric vehicle chargers, offering a lifeline of continuous electricity in a state plagued by power outages due to its independent grid.
“It’s the only community of its kind in North America,” Fallon told The Post. “They created this product because of the loss of power that we continuously have here.”
“All of our electrical is above the air. It’s not buried underground. And so when there’s a power storm, it’ll knock out a transformer; it knocks out power lines monthly. And so we continuously have power outages.”
The homes, priced at $524,000 for smaller models and $544,900 for larger ones, far exceed Houston’s median listing price of $365,000.

Pretty cool stuff. It will be interesting to see how Tesla rolls out this technology. Their cars have certainly attracted a lot of blowback since Elon Musk so publicly supported Donald Trump and took on his DOGE responsibilities. A groundbreaking technology like these roof shingles can position them as leaders in an entirely new market.

MSNBC host makes wild claim that “people of color” are next to be deported
Our take: Without evidence. We hear that term bandied about a lot when the media covers Donald Trump. And many times Donald Trump outright lies. The part we find hard to reconcile is that we rarely if ever hear this same term applied to other politicians or the talking heads on television who spew wild accusations and theories without being checked.
One such example can be found at MSNBC, where former Bernie Sanders spokesperson Symone Sanders-Townsend made the wild statement that “people of color will be the next to be deported.”
On "The Weekend" on Saturday, Sanders-Townsend discussed Abrego Garcia's case with her guests, Michael Steele and Rep. Glen Ivey, D-Md., and cautioned that the Trump administration's deportation efforts wouldn't end with illegal immigrants.
Sanders-Townsend referenced an op-ed by NAACP Legal Defense Fund President Janai Nelson, which argued that the Trump administration's "lawlessness" should alarm everyone because it demonstrates how democracies are dismantled "brick by brick."
"But to me, that is why Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s specific case, the case of the gentleman who’s a makeup artist out of California who was also sent to that prison—75% of the folks who have been sent, the men who have been sent there that don’t have criminal records — that is why this is so important," the MSNBC host continued.
"Because if they can do it to them, if they can snatch students off the street without any pushback or recourse, they will do it to any of us," she added. "To be very clear, it’s going to be the people of color and vulnerable communities that are next in line."
Wow. Never mind that not a single US citizen has been deported. Never mind that Ms. Sanders-Townsend has zero evidence to make such claims. Never mind that MSNBC is paying her millions of dollars to try and get people to watch their dying channel.
This is why people no longer trust the mainstream media. Making wild statements like this, interjecting their own fears and opinions instead of reporting the news, and showing such partisanship on a channel that claims to be a newscast is beyond the pale.
