Wisconsin Supreme Court suspends judge arrested for obstructing a proceeding against an illegal immigrant
Our take: It is beyond belief that anyone is trying to defend the judge in Wisconsin who
allegedly helped a defendant escape her courtroom after she diverted the attention of
ICE agents. She will get her day in court to prove her innocence. Until then, she has no
place in a courtroom.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court agrees. The court, without anyone bringing the issue to
them, suspended Judge Hannah Duggan indefinitely with her pending legal issues
clouding the picture. The court stated it was protecting the public trust of the integrity of the court.
You think? A judge helping a defendant evade capture is akin to a prostitute loaning her
customer $50 for the service, a cat handing a mouse a piece of cheese, or Jeff Bezos’
girlfriend going out fully clothed and avoiding all cameras—it just does not happen.
Kudos to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, on which 4 of 7 justices are Democrats, for
doing the right thing here.

Whoopi Goldberg was forced to do her job and promote the President Trump interview on ABC
Our take: Whoopi Goldberg was once an A-list comedienne and actress. She is one of only 21 people who have ever won all 4 major entertainment awards: an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and a Tony—truly an impressive feat. Things have gone downhill rapidly since her heyday.
Goldberg now runs her mouth unfunnily on The View, a show that appears to be designed simply to provide material for idiots like me who write commentary on current events and pop culture. The good news is, she provides so much material, she should win an award for that too.
Goldberg has a serious case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, so much so that she refuses to say his name out loud (which coincidentally draws even more attention to Trump—good call, Whoopi!). This makes the irony of what she had to do this week even sweeter.
Goldberg cashes checks from ABC. ABC is interviewing President Trump to get his perspective on how his first 100 days in office have gone. ABC wants to promote that interview on all of its shows—The View included. Goldberg was forced to promote the interview despite trying to avoid it. Producers kept hounding her until she did her job.
It is hilarious to watch someone as wealthy and insulated from the real world melt down over someone who has no impact on her everyday life. Not one thing in her day-to-day existence has changed since Trump took office. Her fake outrage and moral posturing were nowhere to be found when Joe Biden was wandering around the White House like a dysfunctional Roomba. Or when the story about Doug Emhoff smacking around an ex-girlfriend came out. Or when—insert bad behavior from someone with your political beliefs here.
This nonsense (from both parties) about defending their own people when they behave badly but excoriating your political opponents when they engage in the same behavior needs to end. Whoopi Goldberg could be a leader on that front, but she needs to put down the Kool-Aid if she is going to make a difference.

Our take: Money falls out of a Brinks truck and passers-by stop and grab as much as they can before taking off. Tomorrow’s headlines will be “Water is Wet”, “Sun Rises in East”, and “Man claims he doesn’t need directions because he is not lost.”
Here is a tip for police. If you want to track down who grabbed the money, look for new cars, watches, and purses on Instagram—you will have this case wrapped up in a few days.
