Despite doomsday predictions from political adversaries, the American economy is booming under Trump's tariff strong-arming
Our take: For the past 10 years, there has been a contingent of people who have staked their claim by simply opposing or shitting on everything Donald Trump does. Few politicians in history have evoked such strong emotions, both positive and negative. The problem for Never Trumpers is that he seems to be right many times after people have spent years and innumerable amounts of energy explaining why he is wrong.
This has never been more apparent than when discussing tariffs. Trump has always been pro-tariff and announced his intentions to raise tariffs on all countries the US trades with if elected. This brought prognostications of collapsing economies, empty store shelves, pharmacies running out of medicine, and dogs and cats living in harmony. The narrative was that the rest of the world did not need the US and would simply raise prices to cover the cost of the tariffs imposed.
As it turns out, the rest of the world does need the US, its 350 million consumers, and its booming economy. When Trump announced his tariffs, the stock market took a dive, and talks of reciprocal tariffs and global economic Armageddon rippled through media circles. Trump negotiated with our trading partners, and they all acquiesced to Trump's will, with the US giving almost nothing in return.
Trump rattles the US saber, the world bows down, and America wins again. This must be how the Brooklyn Dodgers felt when the Yankees were winning the World Series regularly in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s. These guys again?
It has been a great week for America, but you wouldn’t know it from the media reaction. It seems like they would much prefer the country take a shot to the groin instead of winning just so they could say “I told you so” to the man they love to hate. It takes a special kind of stupidity to root against the home team just so you can say you were right.

CNN says NY shooter “possibly white” despite photos showing black man with gun walking into building
Our take: A terrible scene played out in New York City this week. A deranged gunman drove across the country, parked his car on Park Avenue, and in broad daylight strolled into the high-rise where the NFL and private equity giant Blackstone are headquartered with a rifle and started shooting people. $ are dead, including the gunman, a Blackstone executive, and a New York cop who confronted the gunman.
Because this happened in the middle of the day in the most populous city in the country in one of the richest areas of the city, the gunman was easily identified in videos and photos. It was easy to see the gunman was Black. It’s worth noting that the race of the gunman is irrelevant to the story. A crazy man walked into an office building and started shooting people. Do you care what color he or the victims were?
CNN sure does. They were quick to label the gunman “possibly white” despite clear evidence he was Black. Although the gunman took his own life to end the killing spree, that was not known at the time of the reporting. This fabrication could have aided the gunman in escaping capture, leading to more deaths if he had still been at large.
This false narrative was driven by a so-called news network that also described riots that caused over a billion dollars in damage as “mostly peaceful,”stated Hillary Clinton was “the most qualified candidate ever” to run for president despite her only role in public office being 6 completely unremarkable years as the junior senator from New York, and stated podcast giant Joe Rogan took horse deworming medicine to treat Covid when he took a drug that had literally received the Nobel Prize for medicine a few years earlier.
If you are a news network, facts matter. CNN is as loose with facts as a drunk sailor is with a credit card in a whorehouse. They will bend any fact or situation to fit the woke narrative they want to push. Their desire to virtue signal is a strong as mine was to see a girl’s boobs when I was in 7th grade. The difference is I was a horny teenager, not a professional journalist. These clowns need to find a job they can do.

Naked Gun remake gets high marks across the board
Our take: The original Naked Gun movie came out in 1988. Starring comedy legend Leslie Nielsen, Priscilla Presley, George Kennedy, and a pre-murder OJ Simpson, it became an instant comedy classic. The slapstick comedy, the plot to brainwash Angel’s outfielder Reggie Jackson to assassinate Queen Elizabeth, and the endless one-liners resonated immediately with audiences and have stood the test of time.
Remaking a classic like Naked Gun is risky. It would be easy to jump the shark and wind up being the next female Ghostbusters debacle. Initial reviews of the remake, due out in theaters August 1st, are overwhelmingly positive. Starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson, the movie has been warmly received by critics who have previewed it. If you are looking for something to do this weekend, add this movie to your list.
