A vigilante couple decides they can stop federal agents from performing their jobs

Our take: A man and his wife decided they could prevent federal agents from performing their jobs by using their vehicles to block Customs and Border Protection officers who were in their neighborhood. Karim Delgado was quoted: “We felt like the more the community disrupts that and the more the community confronts that, the more difficult we make it for them to kidnap people, and the less likely they are to want to hang out in this area.”

Wrong. Federal agents enforcing immigration law are not kidnapping people. They are apprehending people who are in the country illegally. Interfering with this process by people who don’t want laws enforced is a crime.

This happened in the Portland suburb of Hillsboro. I was born and raised in Portland. The reason homelessness, drug abuse, and crime have skyrocketed over the past 25 years is because we allow idiots like this guy and his wife to break the law without repercussions. There need to be consequences when people violate the law, or we will continue to see the degradation of society that we have been living through for the past several decades.

Woman pulls gun at “No Kings”demonstration, now facing charges

Our take: A woman in Myrtle Beach, SC, has been arrested for pulling a gun and pointing it at 2 people on Saturday. Mary Moriarty drove by the demonstration and decided she would pull out a gun and point it at the irritating protestors. No Mary. Just no.

To her credit, she has expressed remorse after she spent 18 hours in jail reflecting on her terrible decision. Moriarty said, “It was an impulsive, very ignorant thing to do; something I totally regret given the 18 hours that I’ve had to reflect on it.” Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. That said, Moriarty needs to face some type of consequence for the terrible decision she made when acting like a spoiled child.

Thieves steal jewels from the Louvre

Our take: In a scenario straight out of the movies, thieves used a crane and an active construction site at The Louvre to steal millions of dollars of jewels, including some of the Crown Jewels of France, before making their escape on motorcycles. No word if Pierce Brosnan was anywhere near The Louvre when the crime took place.

Tip of the day for making friends

Be excited about life, have energy

We generally don’t want a friend who is bored all the time. Someone who is excited about life, interested in things, has good energy … that’s someone you’d be hyped to be around. Not super hyper, necessarily, but just containing a positive energy.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
