An Elementary School teacher on video mocking Charlie Kirk’s death
Our take: A Chicago area elementary school teacher was captured on a video that went viral, mocking the death of Charlie Kirk by pointing at her neck like she was shooting a gun and yelling “bang” two times.
Everyone is entitled to free speech, regardless of how despicable and inhumane it is. I personally don’t think someone who feels OK mocking someone’s death because they disagreed with them should be entrusted to shape the minds of young children. Freedom of speech gives you the right to say what you want. It does not protect you from the consequences of your actions when they are grossly inhumane and could possibly impact impressionable children. We hope this woman gets help because she has lost her touch with humanity.

Missouri charity director on trial for fraud after allegedly misappropriating $11 million that was supposed to help feed hungry children
Our take: We learned when we were kids that the basic components of a healthy diet were proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. The woman who ran a charity meant to feed hungry children included real estate, gifts for boyfriends, and luxury goods on the menu.
Connie Bobo is on trial for fraud after federal prosecutors allege she funneled $11 million out of a $20 million budget to enhance the lifestyle she and those around her enjoyed. She is also accused of trying to pass along fraudulent documents to cover her tracks after her misdeeds were discovered.
This hearing comes on the heels of a trial in Minnesota last year where multiple defendants were found guilty of a similar scam that pilfered over $300 million. What the hell is wrong with people? Stealing funds meant to feed hungry children for their own personal gain—how do you sleep at night? It is stories like these that lead taxpayers to mistrust the government. It should be much harder to steal millions of dollars from the government than it appears to be.

The woman moves with her boyfriend from their apartment without telling her 12-year-old son
Our take: A 12-year-old boy in Texas got home from school to find all the belongings in his apartment were gone, along with his mother and her boyfriend. The boy went to neighbors to get some help. The neighbors called the police, who got in touch with the mother. The mother said an uncle was supposed to pick up the son. The police got in touch with the uncle.
The uncle knew nothing of the plan. The police spoke with the mother’s boyfriend, who complained at length about the 12-year-old boy. The mother and her boyfriend refused to provide an address to which they could bring the son.
The mother and her boyfriend have been charged with abandoning or endangering a child without intent to return. Two questions come to mind. First, what the hell is this kid doing that his mom was willing to pack up and move while he was at school? Second, no matter what your complaints are, how good do your parents look now? At least they never picked up stakes and moved while you were at school.

Tip of the day for making friends
Tell good stories
No one wants to listen to someone who tells long, boring stories. After the first two such stories, people generally start tuning you out. So try to keep your stories shorter, unless you can tell people are interested. Find something interesting to hook their curiosity, and then draw them in with that curiosity until you satisfy it with a good ending. Practice your storytelling when you meet people, and try to get better at it. It’s not one of my strong points, to be honest, but I recognize that and am trying to be better.
