Former Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce expected to plead guilty to embezzlement charges
Our take: Yet another embezzlement case coming from Minnesota. This one is the former CEO of the Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce, who is expected to plead guilty to embezzling over $200,000 from the organization. In this scheme, he created a fake organization, including a fake CEO named “James Sullivan”, who fake died of fake pancreatic cancer in an attempt to cover up the scheme.
What the fuck, Minnesota? Seriously – you guys need to get your shit together up there. It seems like there is a new scam or scandal coming out of the Land of 10,000 Lakes every week. I know the winters are cold, and you like to be polite, but this is getting ridiculous. Someone needs to mind the till, or people are going to steal. Got it????

Portland dedicates a Christmas Tree without calling it a Christmas tree
Our take: I was born and raised in Portland. I always say it’s a great place to be from, because it means you are not there anymore. I left over 20 years ago, before all the Pacific Northwest beta men allowed a small, vocal group of shrieking harpies to control what people could and couldn’t say.
I have been to the lighting of the Christmas tree at Pioneer Courthouse Square. Yeah—it’s a Christmas tree. It’s always been a Christmas tree. If you don’t celebrate Christmas or are offended by the tree, stay home. It’s not inclusivity if one group is forced to change their customs and shut their mouths for fear of offending a bunch of whiny crybabies.
We don’t need land acknowledgements either (they started this ceremony with one). The native tribes fought, enslaved, and killed each other for centuries before a single European showed up in North America.
Europeans did not import and introduce war, slavery, or manifest destiny to Native Americans. Then colonists and Native Americans fought. Native Americans lost. It’s what happened across the globe in every single country. Time to move forward. No one likes a sore loser.

NY has released 7,000 illegal immigrants with criminal records since Trump took office
Our take: Many people have expressed outrage at the aggressive posture ICE agents have taken in the mass deportation the Trump administration has undertaken since he took office in January. A mass deportation favored by the majority of Americans.
If you want to know why such jarring and aggressive tactics are necessary, read this article. The Department of Homeland Security recently released a “who’s who” of illegal migrant criminals who were in custody under the care of the state of NY and then released into society instead of ICE custody in the name of “sanctuary policies” and “resistance.” The collective rap sheet of this group includes attempted murders, thousands of assaults, hundreds of burglaries, robberies, drug offenses, weapons offenses, and sexual predatory offenses.
Cool. At least the elected officials of NY are using thought and reason in their decision-making instead of allowing their emotions and hatred for Donald Trump to cloud their judgment and put New Yorkers and the rest of the country at risk.
Any sane person would turn violent criminals in our country illegally over to federal authorities so they could be deported without aggression or fanfare, which would make everyone in our country safer. But thank goodness Trump was “convicted” of 34 felonies that no one, including the prosecutor, can explain to anyone. Great job, New York!

Tip of the day for thinking critically
Practice active listening. Listen carefully to what others are telling you, and try to build a clear picture of their perspective. Empathy is a really useful skill here since putting yourself in another person's shoes can help you understand where they're coming from and what they might want. Try to listen without judgment – remember, critical thinking is about keeping an open mind.
