Dems continue to decry policing while DC crime rate plummets after National Guard moves in
Our take: In the wake of George Floyd’s death, the “defund the police” movement that had been percolating for several years finally bubbled over to gain more mainstream support. The concept here is that police are inherently biased against minorities and not trained to handle mental health crises. We should stop incarcerating people simply because they steal things or are violent towards other people and instead provide them with mental health support and other services to help them become productive members of society.
The problem here, as a logical person knows, is that many of the people willing to commit these dangerous and violent crimes are perfectly happy to continue their dangerous behavior unless we remove them from society until we have a high degree of certainty that they no longer represent a threat to citizens.
Gambling with people’s lives is a political loser, but Democrats seem to think differently. If they continue to think “hugs for thugs” works despite almost every Democrat-run city in the country still dealing with hundreds of murders, thousands of assaults, and tens of thousands of robberies for decades, they are going to continue to shed registered voters like Bud Light lost customers when they made their deal with Dylan Mulvaney.

Boy chokes out grandmother in her kitchen
Our take: Yikes. That will teach Grandma to bake the cookies for too long, huh? This psycho deserves whatever punishment awaits him.

Surveys show that over half of Gen Z and millennials would “seize excess wealth” for themselves
Our take: If you want to understand why you need to pay attention in history class, look no further than the youngest generations embracing socialism and communism in increasing numbers. Recent polls show that over half of voters under 40 would seize excess wealth and support a national salary cap whereby any income over X ($1 million seems to be a number that most like to pluck from thin air) would be seized and redistributed to “less well-off citizens.” They also support seizing assets like boats, second homes, and cars to help others buy their own first home.
History is littered with failed socialist and communist states. Some that come to mind without doing a Google search are Cuba, Venezuela, Sweden in the 1970s, Russia, East Germany, and Romania, and the list goes on ad infinitum. These policies fail every single time because what they promise is not how human nature works. Somehow greed and self-interest magically disappear when you label it socialism or communism. Newsflash for supporters of these systems—greed and self-interest still exist in socialist and communist states; they simply become concentrated entirely with the people in power.
It happens a little bit at a time: first you cannot speak freely, then you cannot own weapons to defend yourself, and the next thing you know, you are in jail for having money or saying the wrong thing. Over 100 million people died under brutal regimes in Russia and China—16times more than died in Nazi concentration camps in World War II.
This is a dangerous trend. Those of us old enough to remember the Cold War and the horrors of communism and socialism that we saw with our own eyes have a responsibility to push back aggressively when we hear this nonsense bandied about. It’s not cute, and it’s not a phase. It is dangerous and coming from people who refuse to earn their way in the world. Give them what they want and send them to a socialist or communist country. We cannot let them burn down what we have spent the past 250 years building and defending. We owe it to the millions of people who gave their lives defending it to stand up for it now.

Tip of the day for changing habits
Admit Your Problems
The only way out of this is through it. If you’re going to make a change, the first step is recognizing that there’s a problem in the first place. This might sound like “just say no,” but it’s not as simple as that. It’s easy to pretend that things aren’t as bad as they seem, but when we try to deny the problems, we end up making them worse—and then eventually giving up on solving them entirely. So don’t hide from your issues; instead, own up to them and get ready for battle!
ACTION ITEM: Get an accountability partner. Find someone in your life who would walk with you and pray for you as you make much needed change. You may have to go to a 12-step group or talk with a pastor or counselor. But embrace the relationships that will spur you on toward wellness and self-control.
