Woman uses AI to help her list the reasons you should never marry a poor man.
Our take: If you read the footnotes of this article, it states “This content was created by a real person with the assistance of AI”. This leads us to 2 conclusions.
First, we feel sorry for any who marries (or married) this woman. If marriage becomes an equation about finances, you’re not in a marriage, you’re in a partnership much like an LLC. She alludes to many of the platitudes about what a good relationship entails, but it rings hollow when she says “don’t marry him if he’s poor.”
Second, it shows how AI is not a person. The mechanical way in which relationships are described is clearly done by either someone who has never been in a good relationship or a machine. When we met our wife, everything the two of us owned fit in a Honda Accord, which promptly broke down in the middle of nowhere and had to be abandoned.
32+ years later, we have built a great life together, raising 3 sons and maintaining a loving relationship with a healthy respect for each other. When you meet the right person, you should marry them and commit to building a life together. If anything about that sounds wrong to you, do yourself and the other person a favor and don’t get married. Either they aren’t the rigght person for you, you’re not ready for it, or it’s just not for you.

List of jobs that pay 6 figures shows the diversity in workplace earning potential
Our take: We included this list to illustrate one thing: there are a lot of ways to earn a good living. The 5 jobs are elevator technician, power plant operators, air traffic controller, nuclear technician, and first line police supervisors and detectives. Some of these are desk jobs, some trades, and some very specialized skill positions. Which is all to say that no matter your field, you can do well for yourself if you dig in, do a good job, and continually improve yourself. People have made fortunes in the law, garbage collection, education, electric work, sandwiches, and medicine. The key is to commit to continually improving yourself and your skillset at whatever you choose to pursue. There is no shame in being academic, a plumber, a doctor, a cashier, or a lawyer. Just work at being a great one, and things will work out OK for you.

Applications rise as workers unhappy with RTO mandates take current employers advice to “come back to office or find a new job”.
Our take: There is an old saying that goes “Be careful what you wish for because you might get it.” It comes to front of mind as a cautionary tale for heavy handed employers that are forcing employees back to office after years of a more flexible schedule.
When the pandemic struck and governments around the world wildly overreacted with Draconian legislation not based on science or fact, businesses responded with flexible schedules to keep their doors open and their tills ringing. And things worked fine.
Fast forward to present day and these same employers now want to force the same employees who helped them get through one of the roughest periods in many businesses history to work in the office for 5 days a week so they can micromanage their activities.
Make no mistake, that is what is driving this behavior. if you are a middle manager and you need to justify your existence (and keep your job), you have to be able to say “I went to Bob/Sally’s office and confirmed they were working (or read them the riot act), so I’m doing a good job. It is demotivating, insulting, and abrasive to the associates who are working hard without anyone looking over their shoulder or performing bed checks.
As such, Bob & Sally have dusted off their resumes and are looking for a gig where they feel valued and appreciated. And these businesses will be left holding the bag when their most talented people leave for greener pastures because you wanted to be an asshole instead of giving them grace to handle the afternoon school pickup, take their kids to their piano lessons, or make it to dentist appointments.
Those who fail to learn history are doomed to repeat it. Bad management has been in vogue for time immemorial, and present day is certainly no exception.

TIP OF THE DAY
Don’t make people guess what you want. Communicate your desires clearly, respectfully, and unemotionally, and you greatly increase your chances of getting them. At worst, you will learn where you stand and can make informed decisions about how you want to proceed.
