ICE chief tells everyone yet again that anyone in the country illegally will be arrested if ICE encounters them
Our take: President Trump campaigned on deporting all illegal immigrants in the United States. He has done everything in his power to execute against that campaign promise. The southern border was closed within 24 hours of Trump taking office. ICE, responsible for deportations, also hit the ground running, immediately arresting illegal immigrants, targeting the most dangerous.
The administration also warned local government officials who refuse to collaborate with ICE on turning over illegal immigrants in local custody that it would lead to ICE going out into communities to find them. If, in the search for the most wanted illegal immigrants, ICE encounters others in the country illegally, they would arrest them as well. Most local jurisdictions that opposed deporting illegals chose to ignore this warning, and it has been playing out daily for the past 6 months.
ICE goes looking for illegal immigrant X, who is a career criminal who is committing crimes in America and was let out of custody instead of being turned over to ICE for deportation. When they are looking for X, they encounter illegal immigrants A, B, and C. ICE never would have encountered A, B, and C if they did not have to go looking for X.
Yet those who oppose the Trump agenda (voted for by almost half the country and supported by roughly 2/3 of the country in most polling) continue to make the same stupid decisions, expecting a different result for some unknown reason. ICE chief Todd Lyons confirmed it would continue in an interview with CBS News. “If ICE encounters someone that is here in the country illegally, we will take them into custody.” Lyons and team have done nothing to signal this is bullshit. It would be smart of those who want to help hardworking, honest people who are in the country illegally to come up with a different approach. Right now, they are herding lambs to the slaughter.

In-N-Out owner leaves California for Tennessee, says it’s difficult to do business in CA
Our take: On a podcast last week, Lynsi Snyder, the billionaire owner of In-N-Out, the iconic burger chain formerly headquartered in California, said she is moving her family to Tennessee. She said while there are good things about California, it is not easy to raise a family or do business in the state.
In-N-Out was founded in Baldwin Park, CA, in 1948 by Snyder’s grandparents. It now has over 400 locations in mostly Western states and Texas. Snyder said the company is moving its corporate headquarters to Tennessee, expecting to phase out the California corporate office by 2030.
In-N-Out joins several other notable companies that have moved their corporate offices out of California, citing the business environment as one of the main reasons. In-N-Out joins notable companies like Oracle, Tesla, X, Chevron, Snowflake, Palantir, and Charles Schwab to move their headquarters to a more business-friendly state.
Coincidentally, California’s most recent budget has a deficit anywhere from $12 billion to $20 billion, depending on whose projections you believe. But thank God men can still compete in women’s sports, and no one was surfing without a mask on in 2020 during Newsom’s watch. Think about that when you see his smug, plastic grin on your television as a 2028 Democratic presidential hopeful.

CEO caught in public having an affair resigns
Our take: In case you have been living under a rock for the past week, here is the story. Andy Byron, the CEO of a tech company, and Kristin Cabot, his “Chief People Officer,” were caught in an affair at a Coldplay concert when the “Kiss-Cam” caught them in a public embrace despite both being married to other people. Had they simply kissed and smiled, they likely would have drawn no attention.
Unfortunately for them, they both panicked and made it obvious something untoward was afoot. Byron quickly ducked out of view and tried to slink away. Cabot turned her back to the camera. Everyone knew they were both doing something they should not have been doing, including Coldplay, who called it out in front of the entire audience.
The clip went viral, and the fallout has been both significant and swift. Byron’s wife changed her married name on social media profiles and then removed her accounts. Byron was suspended by the board and has since resigned. Cabot has remained largely silent, but we are betting her husband and kids are probably not making plans for her “mother of the year” award to celebrate.
Some common sense could have avoided these repercussions. Here are some free pieces of advice: If you are married, don’t have an affair. If you are married and do need to have an affair, do it as privately as possible. If you are married, have an affair, and choose to be in public with your illicit partner, don’t go to places with 20,000 people and hundreds of cameras scanning the environment. If you do decide to go to a place with 20,000 people and hundreds of cameras, it is best to act normally if you are on camera instead of running from the room like a puppy caught chewing on shoes in the closet when your owner walks in.
While we kind of feel bad for these people, we don’t really feel bad for them. We do appreciate their sacrifice to keep all of us entertained for a while, though.

Tip of the day – building resilience and grit
This, too, shall pass. It’s easier to stand strong when you expect things to improve at some point. When you know the hard times will pass, it’s your grit and resilience that help you get there.
