California Medi-Cal budget rises over $100 billion in 4 years
Our take: If you are wondering if people not in the country legally could be able to get their medical care covered by taxpayers, here is the proof and here is how it works.
California’s Medi-Cal program, state-provided insurance for low-income residents, covers all emergency room visits regardless of the citizenship status of the patient. Have a cold but no insurance? Head to the ER. Hurt your arm but no insurance? Head to the ER. Emergency rooms are required by law to provide care to everyone regardless of their insurance or residency status. Their costs are covered by the taxpayer when the insurance company or the patient can’t or won’t pay the bill.
Roughly 70% of Medi-Cal costs are funded by—you guessed it—the federal government. Here is exactly how you are paying for the healthcare of illegal migrants while at the same time having to pay thousands of dollars (if not more) for your own private insurance. In the past 4 years, the Medi-Cal budget has risen more than $100 billion, while actual enrollment has only risen by 100,000 people.
Either these new enrollments have cost the program $1 million per person, or the money is being spent on people not enrolled in the program. Don’t listen to the garbage people tell you about it being illegal for non-citizens to get any government benefits when you can clearly see with your own eyes that it is happening on a very large scale.

A woman compares shopping lists at Costco and Walmart. Costco was the clear winner
Our take: Groceries are expensive. We have been Costco shoppers for over 30 years, so this article did not surprise us at all. If you’re feeding kids, pay the $65 annual membership fee (for a basic membership, executive is $100 per year). In this price comparison, our author saved 25% by shopping at Costco for the same 32 items.
If you’re spending $1,000/month on groceries (not crazy at all for a house of 4+ people), you save your membership fee and then some in the first month. Plus, they have the best value in the fast food/food court world, with a big old hot dog and a Coke for $1.50. You can’t beat it!

Megan Rapinoe proves you should not listen to her about science, statistics, or biology
Our take: More than 1 thing can be true at the same time. Megan Rapinoe was an all-time great in women’s soccer. She also has zero clue about how science, biology, or statistics work, as evidenced by her wildly incorrect statement after the IOC correctly said only women can participate in women’s sports at Olympic events.
In response, Rapinoe stated, “We already know that biology, as much as we want it to be just nice and clean and tight and perfectly in one category and another, it’s not.” Uh—yeah, it is. Men have XY chromosomes and women have XX chromosomes. Every time.
Men are born without a reproductive system that could carry and deliver a baby. Every time. The fastest and strongest people in any sport at any time are men. Every time. The percentage of people born without a clearly defined sex is .018%. That is called an "outlier" in statistics—meaning it happens so rarely, it is ignored completely when drawing conclusions and creating categories. Every time.
Rapinoe made millions as a member of the US Women’s National Team—which she deserved based on her prowess on the pitch. She competed against men in the Olympics exactly zero times. When her team did compete against men, it did not go well for our purple-haired activist.
The U-15 FC Dallas boys' team (that's boys under 15 years of age) beat the US Women’s National team that Rapinoe was a member of 5-2. That’s an ass kicking in soccer terms. Megan should sit this one out since she clearly has zero idea what she is talking about. We are glad the IOC is protecting women’s sports, women’s rights, and women’s opportunities. This is so basic it’s silly we are even talking about it.
