Dems turn on their own, vote to oust 2 activist Vice Chairs just months after they were

Our take: I played baseball for most of the first 20 years of my life. I learned one of the ways to be a good hitter was not to swing at pitches in the dirt, as they are difficult to hit. The Democratic Party keeps flailing away at shitty pitches and has continued the slump they have been in for some time.

Case in point is the latest drama at the DNC. After the nightmare presidential election of 2024, the Democrats shook up their leadership. Part of that leadership was to elect David Hogg as a vice chairman of the party. Hogg rose to national prominence because of his consistent calls for gun control after he survived the horrific Parkland school shooting.

The Democrats now have buyer’s remorse. After being elected, Hogg vowed to raise $20 million to spend running more progressive and younger opponents in primary elections against entrenched Democrat politicians. Hogg’s position is that fresh blood who are more social media savvy and unencumbered by long-standing alliances with powerful donors would shake up the party and help attract some of the millions of defectors who left the party.

In a surprise to no one, those same entrenched politicians are not going to sit by idly and allow themselves and their colleagues to be kneecapped by this whippersnapper. They held a recall vote this week, and Hogg and his counterpart Malcolm Kenyatta will now face a vote where one of the two of them will be removed from the seats they were elected to just months ago.

As Donald Trump continues to enact his agenda at breakneck speed to the horror of helpless Democrats, they are having a public spat that should be held at the kitchen table, if at all. To quote Jerry Seinfeld when George Costanza spilled his innermost thoughts: “Good luck with all that! ”

President Trump's poll numbers are as popular as ever, as the majority of Americans support his focus on removing illegal aliens

Our take: If you watch CNN or MSNBC, you would hear that all of America is aghast at the approach the Trump administration is taking to remove the millions of illegal immigrants that have poured into the country, many during the open border era of the Biden presidency. Unfortunately for those who engage in this wishful thinking, reality tells a different story.

In a recent non-partisan poll by Rasmussen, Trump’s 5-day approval average is 52%, with the largest swing in numbers coming from legal immigrants. It turns out those that followed the rules and entered the country lawfully don’t have much sympathy for those that tried to cut the line.

It remains to be seen if this support will last, but all indications are that most Americans knew what they were signing up for when they elected Trump for a second non-consecutive term. They understood it might be messy and difficult, but someone needed to get it under control. For now, they support the administration's hard-line policies and aggressive tactics. You can expect more of the same, at least in the immediate future.

Bluesky, an alternative to X, has become an echo chamber pushing people back to X, says Mark Cuban

Our take: Bluesky is a messaging application started as a direct response to Twitter. It gained steam among left-leaning thinkers after Elon Musk bought Twitter (now X) and vowed to remove much of the censorship, message throttling, and speech suppression that was exposed in the files Musk released after he purchased the company. Bluesky branded itself as a haven for critical thinkers, empathetic and kind people, and those who refused to buy into the hate they found in the post-purchase Twittersphere.

Fast forward to the current day, and the bloom seems to have fallen off the rose. None other than Kamala Harris-supporting, Trump-bashing loudmouth Mark Cuban went public with his criticisms of Bluesky.

Cuban said the incessant virtue signaling and attempts to cancel people who do not agree with all aspects of what is typically the Democrat agenda are driving people back to Twitter, where they can express their views without vitriolic attacks from their friends and allies.

We don’t agree with Mark Cuban much, but we do here. This is a prime example of what happens when the thought police or censorship are allowed to take over. At first, those who agree with those in power think it's great to be able to silence opposing views and shut down people with different thoughts or opinions than their own.

Unfortunately, these folks are not thinking very far in advance. No matter how much you agree with someone, at some point you will have a different point of view on a specific topic. If the person you disagree with has the ability to shut down your right to express your thoughts and opinions, you have now become the very person you celebrated getting shut down previously.

The only safe and fair way to handle free speech is to let people speak freely. If you grant the power to silence to any group of people, unless you are in that group of people, you will eventually wind up in their path. Vigorous debate on issues, especially between people who hold opposing viewpoints, used to be a hallmark of our country. The sooner everyone wakes up and gets back to holding this process as sacrosanct, the better off our country will be.
