Rising costs impact visits to restaurants

Our take:  Let’s be real – it’s fucking expensive to eat food away from home. It’s nearly impossible to find a healthy meal for 2 people and spend less than $60 if you’re eating away from home. I don’t know about you guys, but we eat 90% plus of our meals at home, made from ingredients we can control, and we still spend $800 a month on groceries to feed 2 people.

If restaurants want to lure diners back, they are going to have to raise their game. Friendly staff, good atmosphere (like good music and lighting), and a good value proposition in terms of the amount of food you get for what you pay need a serious review if they want to reverse this trend.

Lottery winner arrested for 3rd time since winning $167 million

Our take: James Farthing won $167 million in the Powerball lottery in 2025. Less than a year later, he was arrested for the 3rd time since winning the jackpot in Kentucky. Bro – hire someone to follow you around and stop you from making terrible life choices like Dennis Rodman did back when he was playing in the NBA. You can take the man out of the backwoods, but you can’t take the backwoods out of the man.

A divorced couple buys a duplex together to make parenting easier and control costs

Our take: We love creative thinking and problem-solving. This couple decided that when their marriage ended, they would buy a duplex together and inhabit each unit separately to make parenting easier on the entire family and save on rental costs while building equity as the property appreciates in value.

Talk about making lemonade out of lemons! Good job by these folks in making the best of a difficult situation.
