Border czar Homan tells state and local politicians, “Fuck around and find out.”

CURRENT EVENTS

Our take: One of President Trump's campaign promises was to close the southern border and deport illegal immigrants currently in the country. Trump tapped former ICE director Tom Homan to lead this initiative. Homan has made it clear he intends to carry out the mission.

Several state and local politicians have publicly stated they plan to actively run interference for the people in the country illegally. Homan has issued a stark warning to them that a lack of cooperation will have dire consequences.

"You've got San Diego writing legislation. You've got Colorado and other states and other cities saying they're going to prevent us doing what I'm doing. I want to send a clear message.

"If you let us in the jail, we can arrest the bad guy in the jail and in the safety and security of the jail. One officer could do that, but when you release a public safety threat back in the community, you put the community at risk. You put my officers at risk. You put the alien at risk," he said.

He added: "Here's what's going to happen—you release that guy in the community; I'm going to send an entire team to go look for the guy in your community. And what's going to happen? We'll find that guy. And when we find that guy, there's probably going to be others that are not a priority.

"However, if they're in the country illegally, they'll be arrested, too, because we're not going to tell an immigration officer like this [Biden] administration did that you're going to turn your back on an illegal immigrant. When you're an immigration officer, you have an oath to uphold, so you are forcing us into community in large numbers where other non-priority aliens will be arrested.

"That's the exact result you don't want, so let us in the jail. It's safer for everybody."

Something tells us that you should take Homan at his word. It seems like Trump has picked the exact right person to head up this program.

Person of interest detained in slaying of United HealthCare CEO slaying

Our take: After an intensive 5 day manhunt, police have apprehended a “strong person of interest” in the killing of UnitedHealth Care CEO Brian Thompson. Thompson was gunned down in a targeted attack in New York City last Wednesday morning while walking to an investor meeting. The murder was caught on video, which has been widely viewed on the internet.

Police detained Luigi Mangione in Altoona, PA Monday morning at a McDonalds after an employee recognized him from photos and called in the sighting. Mangione had several incriminating items in his posession when detained, including a gun, suppressor, and several fake ID’s, all of which were consistent with evidence turned up from the investigation. He also had a “manifesto” describing his disdain for the US healthcare and insurance industry.

Mangione, 26, is a valedictorian from a top end prep school and a graduate from University of Pennsylvania, is being held in Pennsylvania as New York authorities work on extraditing him back to New York to face charges.

7 things mentally strong people don’t do

Our take: The author states he has “studied and trained” mentally strong leaders for decades. We are not sure what that means, but it sounds pretty important. All kidding aside, we read the article and thought it had great information to share with our readers.

The highlights are that mentally strong people don’t wilt or freeze under pressure, don’t do things that will compromise their integrity, even if it means hard conversations or immediate consequences, and they perform consistently while not worrying much what others think about them. The article only takes a few minutes to read. We think it’s a great investment of your time.

TIP OF THE DAY

When someone makes an ambiguous statement, and that statement can be perceived as either positive or negative, always assume they meant it in the positive way until you can make certain you were right or wrong. You can always get upset later. There is no reason to blow a situation up because of a misunderstanding.
