No, stores are not required to honor prices posted in error

Our take:  As someone who has spent more than 2 decades in retail stores, I’m begging you to read this article. If I had a nickel for every know-it-all lawyer who “knows the laws” and “knows their rights”, I wouldn’t have to work anymore.

In the vast majority of situations, if a store has something mismarked on the shelf, they can refuse to sell it to you at that price and fix the pricing. You are not owed anything. You don’t “have a lawsuit.” No one is selling televisions for $2,00, you loser. You’re just being a weasly asshole. Stop it.

The doctor who sold Friends star Matthew Perry ketamine was sentenced to 30 months

Our take:  It is sad that Matthew Perry died of a drug overdose. We are all for punishing the people who supplied him with the drugs that killed him. Our only comment is that we would better pursue the killers of disenfranchised people (poor, disabled, mentally challenged, etc.) with the same vigor as the people who happened to kill the famous drug addict. We wonder if Perry was a poor person; if the same amount of attention and resources would have been paid to the people responsible. Something tells me they would not.

The CEO accused of $7 million fraud was arrested at the SF airport, trying to board a flight to Nigeria

Our take: Federal prosecutors accused a California CEO of fraudulent billings to the VA that stole more than $7 million of government funds for home care visits that never happened. The accused was arrested at SFO while attempting to board a flight to Nigeria.

Prosecutors say they first became suspicious when the man sent them an email claiming to be a Prince who needed their help in repatriating $3 million, but he would need their personal information before they could proceed. He should have quit while he was ahead.

Tip of the day for thinking critically

Ask lots of open-ended questions. Curiosity is a key trait of critical thinkers, so channel your inner child and ask lots of "who," "what," and "why" questions.
