ICE sweep in Minneapolis finds nearly 50% of immigrants committed immigration fraud

Our take: America is far and away the most attractive country for immigrants. People from around the world dream of living in America. It stands to reason that people would lie and cheat if it allowed them to fulfill that dream.

A recent sweep by immigration authorities in Minneapolis-St. Paul found nearly half of immigrants were committing some form of immigration fraud: marriage fraud, overstaying visas, people claiming to work at businesses that didn’t exist, forged documents, abuse of the H1B system, and abuse of the F1 visa, to name a few.

Regardless of how you feel about the current activities around deporting illegal immigrants, it should be obvious to everyone that our current immigration system is badly broken and needs to be overhauled immediately. Maybe the people in Congress who are responsible for making laws should get off their asses and get to work on fixing it.

Feds want Diddy locked up for 11 years

Our take:  Despite being acquitted on numerous charges, Sean Combs, better known to most as P. Diddy, was found guilty of prostitution-related charges in a July 2025 trial. The prosecutors are asking for a sentence of 11 years behind bars.

Diddy’s attorneys are asking for a 14-month sentence. Stock analysts warn Combs’ incarceration threatens to put Johnson & Johnson, the biggest manufacturer of baby oil, out of business due to lost sales.

Tip of the day for finding purpose in your life

Ground yourself in your personal values.
When people encounter problems in their lives, they can react in different ways depending on how grounded they feel.

“When people are grounded, they feel that the key connections in their lives that provide the foundation of a sense of meaning are solidly intact,” he writes psychologist Steven Heine. “They know who they are, who their important relationships are, and what they stand for, and they are in a better position to confront any new threats they might encounter.”

A simple exercise of writing about what you value and why it’s important has been found to benefit people in many situations, writes Heine. He points to studies suggesting that doing so can help people change their lifestyle in healthy waysdo better in school when disadvantaged, and accept their choices in life and their mortality more easily.
