A male paddleboarder set for trial, accused of attacking a female surfer and trying to drown her after a disagreement over a wave

Our take: Good lord. This guy watched Point Break one too many times. Gentlemen – if you find yourself in a situation where you are ready to throw hands with a random woman over a disagreement, you need to take a long, hard look at yourself in the mirror. This would not have been OK even if it was 2 men, but to have a man attack a woman over a surfing disagreement is beyond the pale. Coping skills, people! Coping skills!

Whiners complain that Pharrell Williams telling people to “never stop working” is tone deaf

Our take: Pharrell Williams is an award-winning musician and producer who has been making hits for decades. He was honored Sunday night at the Grammy Awards for his lifetime contributions. During his speech, he told people he was grateful for his career and urged them to “never stop working” and “never stop grinding.”

A bunch of losers on the internet whined that his speech was tone deaf when “Everybody at The Grammys is talking about the government, ICE, and her, he is talking about some bullshit.” Pretty hilarious that they cannot see that maybe they should listen to the multi-millionaire rather than bitching about some imaginary boogeyman holding them back. It’s almost like they want to be victims instead of taking control of their lives and accepting responsibility for their own success. Haters gonna hate. We’re going to listen to Pharrell on this one.

Our take: We talked about this, Dad. You cannot drink when you take your medication. Our apologies to everyone on the flight. He will do better next time.

Tip of the day – How to think critically

Once a problem has been identified, analytical skills become essential. The ability to analyze and effectively evaluate a situation involves knowing what facts, data, or information about the problem are important. This also often includes gathering unbiased research, asking relevant questions about the data to ensure it is accurate, and assessing the findings objectively. Improve your analytical skills by taking on new experiences. For example, you might read a book about a concept you are unfamiliar with or take an online math class to push yourself to think in new ways and consider new ideas. Doing so can help you build the skills to interpret new information and make rational decisions based on sound analysis.
