2025 predictions made by Americans in 1998 show some hits and misses
Our take: Americans who took a shot at predicting what 2025 America would look like got some things right and missed on some. In 1998, Bill Clinton was President, iPhones were almost still a decade away, and Brittney Spears was still a teenage temptress. Americans expected that by 2025, we would have elected a black president (half right), that gay marriage would be legal (hard to believe this took as long as it did), and that space travel would not be a common thing for ordinary Americans. It’s pretty interesting to see what people thought over a quarter century ago.

Wife asks the internet if she should be concerned that her new husband won’t share any financial information with her
Our take: A newly married woman took to the internet to ask if she should be concerned that her new husband will not share how much he makes, how the family finances operate, or what their expenses are. He won’t show her bank accounts or any other information. Our advice would be to find out all that information in divorce court. You are at best married to a douchebag, at worst a serial killer. Get out now!!!

Mainstream media largely silent on Minnesota fraud, YouTube guy goes door to door to show damning evidence
Our take: Since the fraudulent business schemes in Minnesota have been exposed, we have seen handwringing politicians and public officials lament that they have been trying to uncover and prosecute the offenders.
I guess it never occurred to them to do what Nick Shirley did. The YouTube host literally went door-to-door at several of the “businesses” in Minnesota to try and enroll his son in the day care services they purported to be running. Not one child was recorded, despite the visits happening on a Tuesday in the late morning. Many places had no one working, and the doors were locked, despite some of the businesses being registered for over 100 kids and having received millions of taxpayer dollars in the past several years.
The mainstream media loves to look down on “so-called” journalists who use social media websites as their platform. The CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News channels of the world need look no further than this example for the reason why many people consider them nothing more than the propaganda arm of the political party that they support.
The internet and social media platforms have democratized the sharing of information, and the world is a much better place because of it, even after considering all the stupid and false things that get posted.

Tip of the day: How to win friends and influence people
Show Appreciation
Appreciation goes a long way in professional relationships. Make sure to thank others sincerely when they help you out, and be specific about what you’re grateful for. This shows that you’re paying attention and value their contribution.
Example:
Instead of a generic “Thanks,” try, “Thank you for staying late yesterday to finish the project—it made a huge difference.”
