Dan Bongino changes his tune, says Epstein killed himself

Our take: Before he was appointed as Deputy Director of the FBI, Dan Bongino parlayed his background as a Secret Service agent into fame and fortune as a podcaster and public voice on the right. One of the topics he consistently raised was around the death of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Epstein was found dead in his cell despite being on suicide watch. Because his client list was made up of some of the richest and most famous people on the planet, conspiracy theories abounded.

Bongino was front and center in that group. He repeatedly questioned the narrative, accusing those in positions of power of conspiring to off Epstein to protect those powerful people. He did so publicly and on video and audio.

Now that he is in a position of power, he has done a 180, stating multiple times that Epstein killed himself. Bongino has done so multiple times, citing the video evidence he now has access to.

Keep this in mind the next time you are “certain” the fix is in. We are sure Bongino believed his previous stance. We are also certain that emotion and the ability to capitalize on the innuendo without the burden of having to answer for his comments or prove their accuracy made it easy for him to use it as “clickbait” to further his wealth and fame.

An entitled journalist compares America to North Korea in pandering speech

Our take: At one point in the past, Christiane Amanpour was relevant in the news media. Those days ended long ago. She has lived off her past glory for years now, and her latest comments may show why.

Amanpour spent a long time at CNN back when CNN reported news. As such, she had access to many influential and significant people and stories. Now she gives paid speeches to liberal elites. In her latest speech, she compared traveling to America under the Trump presidency to going to North Korea.

You know, because foreigners are not welcome in America. Never mind that North Korea is a dictatorship where people are starving, go without electricity, and are murdered without recrimination. It’s the same as ejecting people who snuck into the country.

By the way, Amanpour was treated well by all law enforcement officers she encountered. But she made her comments after her trip. I think the kids call this being “thirsty” for attention. We hope she stays in England from now on.

Boston mayor says ICE acts like “secret police snatching people off the street”

Our take: We don’t need to say a lot about Boston Mayor Michelle Wu. She has done a lot to prove her bona fides as a radical progressive who is more interested in virtue signaling than doing her job serving legal citizens of Boston.

In her latest comments to this effect, she compared ICE agents to “secret police”, clearly an attempt to compare them to the Nazi police who rounded up Jews in 1930’s Germany. Because detaining non-citizens who need to be deported is the exact same as rounding up people to take them to gas chambers is the same thing.

What an insult to people and their family members who were persecuted and murdered in the Holocaust. Ms. Wu should be ashamed of herself for making this comparison.

Tip of the Day

Empathy is the art of placing yourself in someone else's shoes and understanding their feelings and perspectives. Try not to judge. Instead, be fully present, offer a listening ear, and tune in to the other person’s emotional state.

How to practice:

Ask the person how they are and then practice empathy. Imagine how they must feel and let yourself feel it yourself. Sometimes the best thing you can do for someone is to simply hold space without trying to problem solve. Rather than going into fix-it mode you can ask if they’d like comfort or solutions. This will help you know how best to support them and show them that you are there to support their feelings, not just demonstrate your own knowledge.
