In a move as predictable as the sun rising in the East, the NYC socialist mayor wants to raise taxes on the wealthy and businesses to fund the $12 billion budget gap
Our take: Zohran Mamdani was very transparent in his campaign. He is a socialist who believes no problem is too big or too small for government to handle. It should not be surprising to anyone that his plan to cover a $12 billion budget gap is to raise taxes on those already paying the majority of the taxes. In fairness to him, he has only been in office for 4 weeks. He did not create the budget shortfall the city is facing, but his solution is only surprising to you if you ate paint chips as a kid. Congratulations, New York – you are getting exactly what you voted for. Real estate agents in Florida, Texas, and Nevada have to be salivating at all the business headed their way.

Cracker Barrel changes travel policy to require employees to eat only at Cracker Barrel when traveling for the company
Our take: This only makes sense if Cracker Barrel also updated its health insurance to cover the inevitable health issues that will arise from only eating Cracker Barrel food for days on end. Yikes!!!

Anti-ICE rioters attack journalists trying to cover the illegal street takeovers happening
Our take: Anti-ICE rioters (they are not protestors or observers when they block streets, attack journalists, and interfere with law enforcement operations) have set up “checkpoints” where they stop cars, demand people identify themselves, and attack those they don’t want around. Sounds exactly like the democracy and welcoming country they claim to be supporting.
One journalist recorded his interactions with these upstanding human beings. Maybe he should have just stormed a church; then he would have been left alone to do whatever he wanted and defended by these same people after the fact.

Tip of the day – How to think critically
Communication skills are important when it comes time to explain and discuss issues and their possible solutions with colleagues and other stakeholders.Improve your communication skills within the context of critical thinking by engaging in difficult discussions, for example, in situations when you and another participant may disagree about the topic. Maintain good communication habits, such as active listening and respect, to understand other points of view and to be able to explain your ideas in a calm, rational manner. Doing so can help you evaluate solutions more effectively with your colleagues.
