Harris campaign laments skipping Rogan appearance in the wake of monumental defeat

Our take: We included this article to highlight the change that has happened over the past several years in where people get their information from. The Democrat approach to how to connect with voters was targeted to historically successful methods: television ads, mainstream media interviews (sparingly at best), and canvassing neighborhoods. They did a few smaller podcasts, many of which were not watched much by their target voters: Blacks, Latinos, and middle aged white women. The Trump campaign targeted these voters on much more popular podcasts: Andrew Schultz, Theo Von, and of course, Joe Rogan. Rogan hosted both Trump and Vance within weeks of the election. There is nothing that definitively says this strategy is what put them over the top, but it sure didn’t hurt. The political world is very Darwinian. Adapt or die. The Harris campaign missed the mark and paid the price for it. Kudos to you smart SGT readers for making the leap and jumping on the bandwagon - we appreciate it!

Tech executive facing the end shares poignant message

Our take: We don’t know this man. We know nothing about him, his history, or his situation other than what is in the article we shared. With that said, his message struck us for one reason. The article references him as a tech executive, yet in communicating his imminent passing, he does not once mention his career or his achievements. Thousands of people pass away in our country every day. Some get the chance to say their goodbyes and share their final thoughts, some don’t. Doctors, nurses, and end of life care providers who regularly see people in their final minutes share the same message - no one talks about work or achievements when they face death. To a person, they talk about relationships, experiences, and regretting not doing things they wanted to do. A powerful lesson exists here. We still have time. Let’s do our best to take risks, focus on people instead of work or things, and truly enjoy the time we have with those we care about. I guarantee you won’t regret it down the road.

Skepticism from the usual suspects has started around DOGE plan led by Musk, Ramaswamy

Our take: It is not surprising at all that those who exist in and support the bloated government bureaucracy are already whining about potential change. They fall back on the tired argument of “the greater good”. We can protect the environment, enforce laws, and ensure people’s safety without 400+ government agencies layering senseless regulation upon senseless regulation. If we unfetter the business world in the greatest country with the largest economy in the history of the world, the rising tide will lift every boat. We should call to mind Teddy Roosevelt’s “Man in the Arena” speech, where he correctly recognized that those who are in the arena playing the game should not be swayed by the fans in the arena yelling and throwing things on the playing field. We are happy to have smart, successful, experienced business leaders take a blow torch to the current state of the federal bureaucracy. We find it hard to believe it can wind up worse than it is now. If we do what we have always done, we will get what we have always got.
