Former VP candidate says people thinking their rights come from their creator and not the government is “extremely troubling”
Our take: Quick—without looking it up on Google, who was Hillary Clinton’s VP pick when she lost the presidential election to Donald Trump in 2016? OK—we know no one remembers who this gonad is, so we will help you out. His name is Tim Kaine, and he is a senator from Virginia. He also doesn’t understand how our country was formed.
While speaking in the Senate, Kaine said that “the statement that our rights do not come from our laws or our governments is extremely troubling.” Unfortunately for Kaine, that is almost word for word what the founding fathers based the birth of our nation on when they declared independence from Britain. The preamble of the Declaration of Independence literally reads, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
This means explicitly that people have rights simply by being born, that they are not dependent on any government or entity for those rights, and that no government or entity can encumber or deny them those rights. Seems like Tim may need to go back and brush up on his 6th grade civics. Hard to believe this jackass was a few thousand votes away from becoming VP.

A woman asks the internet if she is overreacting when her husband invited his mother along on their anniversary trip
Our take: A woman sought validation from the internet after her husband invited his mother on their anniversary trip. The husband’s reasoning was his mom “doesn’t get out much” and could watch the kids while they went out.
There are several things wrong here. First, why the fuck are your kids going on your anniversary trip? Second, why the fuck is your husband inviting his mom? Third, the wife wound up sleeping in the guest room—what the fuck?
Your husband is a moron who likely sits down to pee. You are both insane for thinking it is OK to bring your kids on your anniversary trip. Your mother-in-law is insane if she thinks she should have attended the trip. You all deserve each other—good luck.

Minneapolis councilman to keep position and 6-figure salary despite accepting fellowship at Harvard
Our take: If you are looking for a definition of entitlement, look no further than Councilman Jeremiah Ellison. Ellison was elected to represent a section of North Minneapolis as their councilman. For his work, he receives an annual salary of $110,000. Cool—good for him.
Ellison also just accepted a full-time fellowship at Harvard, which is roughly 1,380 miles from Minneapolis. Any normal person would think that if you accepted a full-time gig in Boston, you would need to quit your full-time gig in Minneapolis.
Not Ellison, though. He announced he would keep his role on the council while living in Boston and working full-time at the Harvard fellowship. He said he would come back 2 times a month to attend the full city council meetings and attend his assigned committee meetings virtually.
While working and living full-time in Boston. Ellison has previously made common sense statements, like supporting ANTIFA and vowing to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department. Cool—sounds like Ellison lives full-time in Xanadu, not Boston or Minneapolis.
It’s probably just a coincidence that Ellison’s daddy, Keith Ellison, happens to be the Attorney General of Minnesota. The next article on this will likely be an announcement by the AG’s office that they investigated the situation and found no impropriety and that Junior is good to double dip and fuck over the people he was elected to represent.
