New York Governor Hochul is facing the consequences of her words

Our take:  Direct quote from New York Governor Kathy Hochul to Republicans in 2022: Just jump on a bus and head down to Florida, where you belong, OK. Get outta town. Get outta town. Because you don’t represent our values. You are not New Yorkers.” Unfortunately for Hochul, many rich New Yorkers took her advice. New York’s budget commission reported that “New York City lost 102,000 residents and their $13.7 billion in personal income to Florida from 2018-2022 on net.”

Direct quote from Hochul in 2026 responding to a question about the proposed tax increases currently being negotiated between the state legislature and the governor’s office: “Maybe the first step should be to go down to Palm Beach and see who we can bring back home because our tax base has been eroded.”

This is a prime example of be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it. You want the rich people who disagree with you to move to an income tax-free state? No problem. Good luck funding your government.

Billionaire candidate for California Governor “hasn’t followed it closely enough” to grade Newsom’s performance the past 8 years

Our take: Tom Steyer is a billionaire former hedge fund founder who has contributed over a billion dollars to Democratic candidates and causes over the years. He ran for president in 2020, which no one remembers, which tells you how it went for him. He is now running to be governor of California, where he lives.

He was asked by a reporter how he would grade outgoing Democrat Gavin Newsom for his 8 years in office. Steyer said he “hasn’t followed it closely enough” to give him a grade. Moms across the world who have told their children, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all,” all applauded Steyer’s noncommittal and nonsensical approach. Everyone else recognized him as a weasel, which is correct.

A 20-year-old was arrested after hitting multiple pedestrians with her car while allegedly intoxicated

Our take: A 20-year-old in Kentucky was arrested after allegedly hitting 4 people with her car in downtown Lexington, Kentucky, at 2:20 am on Saturday morning. On a positive note, she looked fabulous in her mugshot! breakfast and helping themselves despite not being guests at the hotel. People are crazy, man. Anywhere there are products or services, there will be people trying to steal them or get them for free. That’s one thing you can count on. It takes some stones to cruise into the hotel as a stranger and make yourself a waffle or grab some bacon and eggs, though.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

We often talk to ourselves in ways that we would never let a stranger or even a friend talk All that you achieve and all that you fail to achieve are the direct results of your thoughts.”
