Donald Trump's approval ratings rose in the most recent poll

Our take: Donald Trump was swept back into the White House in a political comeback unrivaled in US history. His agenda was aggressive, explicit, and, in many cases, controversial. Some of his actions have been popular with most Americans, and some have been divisive. The sum of all this has had an impact on Trump’s overall popularity numbers.

In the most recent political polls, Trump’s numbers have rebounded. In previous polls, Trump's approval rating was 45% and has rebounded to 48% in the most recent Insider Advantage poll.

Trump has suggested that he may seek a 3rd term as president, despite the 22nd Amendment clearly limiting all Americans to 2 terms. He knows this is his last shot to make a lasting impact on the country. We don’t expect him to let up on pressing his agenda, and we hope the impact his team and policies have on the country is positive.

Many high achievers swear by the 80% scheduling rule – you can too

Our take: No matter if you love or hate Mark Zuckerberg, it is impossible to deny his financial success or that his company Meta (formerly Facebook) has made an irreversible impact on the world.

He has become one of the wealthiest and most influential people in the world. In a recent interview, he discussed how he spends his time at the helm of his company, including how he manages his schedule.

During the interview, he discussed following the 80% rule, where he schedules 80% of his time but leaves 20% of his schedule free so he can work on what he wants, including projects, strategic thinking, and focusing on the projects that are important to him. The article states that other high achievers, including Albert Einstein, took a similar approach.

While this seems like common sense, it can be hard to pull off. People get pulled in multiple directions and are constantly being summoned to meetings and events by bosses, peers, and other important people in their lives. We want to be viewed in a positive light and as a team player. There are many competing priorities.

If you want to function at a high level, if you want to be super productive, if you want to set yourself apart, you have to maintain control over your schedule and your time. The 80% rule is one way to approach how you accomplish that.

Therapists married for 50 years share 5 things people in successful relationships do

Our take: From our perspective, the most important things in life are experiences and relationships. We are fortunate that we have been able to spend the last 33 years with one of the best people on the planet. We would argue that is not an accident. I respect and value my wife above all other people, and she shows me the same level of devotion.

But you don’t have to take my word. We have included an excellent article covering 2 therapists, who have themselves been married for 50 years, sharing 5 of the best and most important things they see people in successful relationships do with each other. We strongly suggest you check out the article, as there are invaluable tips and observations in there.

Tip of the Day

The key to beating procrastination is focus. We often give ourselves too many things to do and become overwhelmed. Start by choosing just ONE thing that you’ve been procrastinating on and make a commitment to complete that task in the next week.
