Delta tells members of Congress flying with them to kick rocks until the TSA is funded

Our take:  Under normal circumstances, members of Congress get special treatment at airports, notably skipping to the front of security lines when flying commercial. Delta told them that the deal is off until the TSA is fully funded and operating normally. Kudos to whoever made this decision at Delta.

From a pure leadership perspective, congressmembers should already be volunteering to skip this perk because of the mess they have created. Then again, these are the same people who won’t ban insider trading (allegedly) that has made thousands of them rich while acting as “public servants.” I hope their drinks on their flights are flat too.

A Florida judge rules red light cameras may be unconstitutional, threatening a revenue stream worth billions

Our take: I don’t know about you, but speeding cameras that dole out tickets with no officer in sight feel like cheating to me. If an officer catches me speeding (which I do much less than I used to), I tip my cap and say, “You got me!”

Speeding cameras seem like they should not be legal. One Florida judge agreed, which threatens a revenue stream that has raked in over $1 billion since 2010. The judge says the speeding cameras likely violate the due process guaranteed in the Fourth Amendment. It seems pretty obvious that if you have no way to plead your case, and the state has no witnesses that can verify the accuracy of the camera data, they shouldn’t be able to charge you a fine. This has everything to do with money and nothing to do with safety. We like this judge!

78-year-old Maine governor Janet Mills laughs when asked if she can be trusted after she defended Joe Biden’s cognitive health during his entire presidency

Our take: Janet Mills cannot run for governor of Maine again due to term limits. Rather than ride off into the sunset, the 78-year-old has decided to run for Senate instead. When asked if voters can trust her judgment after she heartily defended an obviously compromised Joe Biden repeatedly, she laughed at the question and essentially said she didn’t want to hurt his feelings.

Good luck, Maine! You’re gonna need it if you elect this fossil. To be fair, Mills may have thought she was asked a question about Matlock.

Tip of the day – How to develop a growth mindset from Psychology Today

Face your challenges bravely. If you find yourself terrified in the face of a serious challenge, stop and reframe the situation in your mind. Consider your challenge as an “opportunity,” thus slightly shifting your perspective to make it easier for you to engage. Each challenge or opportunity invites us into a new experience that is a sort of adventure.

Try different tactics to coach yourself about how to explore a new path, or how to develop a new skill, or how to interact with a new group of people, or to navigate through new circumstances. As an adventure, fear is an acceptable feeling. You press forward anyway because it’s exciting and new. If you take this same attitude with a crisis at work or whatever the challenge, you can discover abilities you didn’t know you even possessed.
