Sunny Hostin “feels terrible” asking a basic question to Kamala Harris
Our take: One of the more iconic moments of her failed presidential run, Kamala Harris appeared on The View in the weeks leading up to the 2024 election. In what should have been a layup, the interview turned into a trainwreck when uber-liberal host Sunny Hostin asked Harris a basic question.
Harris needed to distance herself from the administration she had been a part of for the last 4 years. Hostin gave her a golden opportunity to do so by asking her, “If there was anything she would have done differently than Biden over the course of his presidency? Harris responded with “Not a thing comes to mind.” Not one thing. She glued herself to Biden, and many argue she sealed the fate that awaited her in November.
Hostin now says “she feels terrible” that Harris’ response to the question had such an impact. Maybe it should be a sign that the country dodged a bullet. If a person is not prepared for a layup question like this, they should not be running the country.
If you needed any proof that The View hosts are a group of pandering hacks, look no further.

FBI settles FOIA case over release of Tennessee shooter's manifesto
Our take: School shootings are far too common in our country. It is a bane of our society, and we need to figure out what drives people to commit such vile crimes. To do that, we need to know as much as we can about the people who commit them.
In many instances these people leave behind social media posts, blogs, and journals. These writings are normally made available to anyone who seeks them, as required by the Freedom of Information Act.
In this instance, it sure looks like the people in charge of the FBI during the Biden administration did not want people to know that the transgender person who committed the crime was not a good person. They refused to release the shooter's writings when a FOIA case was made by the Tennessee Star.
The Tennessee Star, along with other plaintiffs, filed suit against the FBI to force the release of the documents. With the Trump Administration now in office, FBI Director Kash Patel quickly started negotiations to settle the suit.
The FBI agreed to release 120 pages of the document and pay the legal fees of the plaintiffs. Seems like a reasonable solution for all parties and avoided a needless lawsuit that would have likely been decided in favor of the plaintiffs.

A woman who spent almost 60 years at one company espouses the virtues of staying put
Our take: In the first 100 years since the industrial revolution took place in the late 1800s, the conventional wisdom for workers was to find a good company to work for, stay loyal and help the company succeed, and the company would take care of you so you could build a good life with your family.
In the past 30 years or so, this wisdom was called into question. As companies started to do things less friendly to workers, like eliminating pension plans and reducing the percentage of jobs represented by collective bargaining, employees became a lot less loyal. The prevailing thought became the company did not care about you, so you should not care about the company.
This article gives the perspective of a woman who stayed at a company for almost 60 years despite an opportunity early in her life to make a move to a huge company with better pay. It is an interesting article and worth your time to read.

Tip of the Day
Consider more than one point of view. Everyone has their own opinions and motivations – even highly intelligent people making reasonable-sounding arguments have personal opinions and biases that shape their thinking. So, when someone presents you with information, consider whether there are other sides to the story.
