Woman arrested and accused of poisoning husband’s wine with antifreeze
Our take: A Connecticut woman was arrested and charged with attempted murder of her soon-to-be ex-husband after she went into their house and put antifreeze in wine already open in his fridge.
The woman was supposed to be at a court hearing but did not show up. The man got notifications his soon-to-be ex-wife’s phone connected to his WIFI router when he was not there.
He had some wine later in the day and fell violently ill. At the hospital, they originally thought he was having a stroke but soon suspected he had been poisoned and put him on a dialysis machine to clean the poison from his blood.
The woman denied the accusations when first confronted but eventually admitted to the crime after searches for how to poison someone were found on her phone. The woman was angry her husband was going to get full ownership of their house and full custody of their child. She also said she wanted to get “payback for him being mentally abusive.”
Society has already seen the youngest generation putting off or avoiding marriage. Stories like this are not sweetening the pot.

Virginia AG candidate called out for messages saying he hoped his political rival’s children would die
Our take: Democrat AG candidate Jay Jones has attempted to apologize after his private communications were released showing he hoped his political opponent’s children would die. He also fantasized about shooting his rival in the head. It’s not hyperbole and not a misprint.
An adult male said it would be good if the kids of someone he disagreed with would die. What a wonderful human being Mr. Jones is. The best punishment for a person this far gone and this bitter is for them to live forever so they never get a reprieve from their bitterness and unhappiness. Long live Jay Jones!

Portland police sergeant says assault victims are to blame because they antagonize anti-ICE protestors
Our take: If you want a shining example of what is wrong with our country, here is a prime exhibit. A police sergeant in Portland blamed counter-protestors for causing their own assault when they confronted ICE protestors. Sergeant Andrew Braun (no relation to Lloyd Braun, Seinfeld fans) stated in his email that “Despite repeated advice from officers to stay away from the ICE crowd, they (the counter-protestors) constantly return and antagonize the protestors until they are assaulted or pepper sprayed.”
How dare these counter-protestors think they can simply demonstrate the same rights as the ICE protestors (except for interfering with federal law enforcement activities, of course) and not expect to be assaulted. Portland police are super busy not enforcing the laws in Portland that the ICE protestors have been flagrantly violating for years. They can’t be expected to actually arrest these people simply because they are assaulting or pepper spraying innocent people who are exercising their First Amendment rights.
Welcome to the real world, where aggressors are victims and bullies are the bullied—unless they are white men, then we all know they are guilty of anything anyone accuses them of. If you struggle to understand why anyone could vote for Donald Trump, this is a shining example. Police officers used to enforce the law and arrest bad people. Now these Portland police officers make excuses for lawbreakers because they are scared of them.

Tip of the day for developing grift
Step 1: Define what grit or mental toughness means for you.
For you, it might be…
going one month without missing a workout
delivering your work ahead of schedule for two days in a row
calling one friend to catch up every Saturday this month
Whatever it is, be clear about what you’re going after.
