Trump preaches common sense to ICE while enforcing law
Our take: Not shockingly, this story came from CNN. The Trump administration has given direction to ICE officers to “use common sense” when conducting arrests of illegal immigrants. This does not preclude them from arresting those wanted at places like churches or schools, which reverses previous norms under other administrations.
Maybe it’s just us, but we fail to see why this is a big deal. If someone was wanted for car theft, burglary, or pickpocketing, should they be able to go to a school or a church and expect clemency from the law? Absolutely not from our perspective.
This is one more attempt by a mainstream media company to continue to push a woke agenda that the majority of the country has soundly rejected.
No one wants to tear families apart or treat people inhumanely. We are a nation of laws, and we will enforce those laws. If people want to avoid interacting with the police and legal system, we suggest they not break the law. This does not seem like a hard problem to solve to us.

Career backup quarterback apologizes for calling critics “losers”
Our take: Dan Orlovsky was a career backup quarterback. Before he somehow landed a job as a commentator on ESPN. He wore a jersey for multiple NFL teams across 11 seasons, starting only 12 games, during which his teams went 2-10. He is most famous for the highlight where he runs out of the back of the end zone for a safety and then continues playing like nothing had happened.
After another Baltimore Ravens early exit from the playoffs, he quickly came to the defense of Lamar Jackson, Baltimore’s star quarterback, and Mark Andrews, their star tight end, when both were rightly criticized by fans.
Both made mistakes in key moments during the game, which contributed to another tough playoff loss. Jackson threw a key interception and lost a fumble, which led to a Buffalo score. Andrews fumbled on a key drive in the 4th quarter and then dropped an easily catchable pass on the final offensive play of the game that would have tied the game and likely sent the game to overtime.
In defending the 2 players, Orlovsky stated that anyone who would put the loss on these 2 players was, “respectfully, a loser.”. I guess it wasn’t enough to fawn over the players like they could do no wrong. Attacking the people who pay their salaries (and Orlovsky’s salary, by the way) made sense.
We will say three things about this.
First, Orlovsky is an experienced loser, so his opinion carries a lot of weight.
Second, if you are calling random people names on national television, we question your credentials to hold the job you do.
Third, both Jackson and Andrews were key drivers of the Ravens’ regular season success and rightfully got a ton of credit for it. When they shit the bed yet again in the playoffs, they rightfully deserve criticism for the loss, especially when they made key mistakes that greatly contributed to the loss.
There is an old saying that says, “Those that can’t do, teach.”. I guess the corollary is, “Those that can’t do or teach run their mouths and make an ass of themselves.”

Trump pardons Silk Road website founder
Our take: Silk Road was an online black market website that provided anonymity to those who used it. It was used for many illicit transactions, such as drug deals and other illegal activities.
Silk Road was shut down by law enforcement in 2014, and the founder, Ross Ulbricht, was prosecuted. When found guilty, he was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
While we do not support Silk Road as a business, we applaud Trump for having the guts to commute this sentence. Taking the rest of someone’s life from them for running a website, albeit for illegal transactions, seems to us the definition of cruel and unusual punishment.
Trump has been in office for 2 days, and one thing has become clear. Trump knows he never has to run for office again, and he gives zero fucks if anyone agrees with him. It’s going to be an entertaining 4 years!
